We utilize speakers and trainers in several ways; via our Getting Ahead Program, Girl's Empowerment Camps, and for our Special Events, including Women of Achievement and Women's Empowerment Symposium. If you specialize in any topics relating to Social Justice, Advocacy, or Women's Empowerment, and would be interested in discussing speaking opportunities, please call (989) 894-9055 or email email@example.com.
Become a Mentor!
Getting Ahead graduates complete the program ready to take action on their goals. Mentors provide valuable, sustained support for graduates to stay focused, work through challenges, strengthen the ability to persevere with long term plans and learn about the business world from seasoned professionals. Mentoring allows you the opportunity to meet women where they are, while sharing reflective insights and perspectives that support them in moving towards their dreams. Mentoring is a mutually rewarding experience for both graduates and mentors.
Donate or Volunteer with the YWCA Working Wardrobe!
The YWCA Working Wardrobe provides work-appropriate clothing for low-income women who are seeking employment, starting a new job, or going to school. Women visit the closet when they are newly hired for a job or are seeking appropriate attire for interviews.
The goal of the program is to prepare women for employment and boost their self-esteem by helping them dress for success.
We are always accepting office-appropriate clothing, accessories (hand bags, scarves, umbrellas) and shoes in all sizes. Please make sure that all donated clothing is in good condition. Items donated that would not be used in the Working Wardrobe will be further donated to another organization.
